Congratulations to the Pride of the Valley
on the most successful marching season since Midland Valley moved to 3A!
After hosting 20 bands for our own Mustang Classic, the Pride
swept the 3A division awards at Music in Motion, won the Spirit Award,
and won a check for $1000 as the Red Division (3A-4A) Grand Champions. Summer Rains
had the highest drum major score for the day, and The Pride also scored the highest for
visual execution and overall effect. The Pride followed that performance with a
third place finish, marching as a 4A band, at the Ridge View Tournament of Bands.
Summer was named the night's best drum major in 4A.
On October 18th, the Pride became the 2003 South Carolina 3A Lower
State Marching Champions, defeating 15 bands in an event held at Midland
Valley.
The next week, the Pride finished fifth at the 3A state
finals. It was Midland Valley's best ever finish in 3A state finals, and the highest
3A finals score ever for the Pride.
Midland Valley received a superior rating for every performance,
with scores of 95.425, 85.365, 93.3, and 92.15. |
